Amy Rose is a young hedgehog with a big heart. She was first introduced to the world of Sonic in Sonic CD for the Sega Mega-CD. She’s been in every Sonic game since, for the most part.
In Sonic CD, Amy was young girl who was told by a card reading to go to the Little Planet and meet Sonic The Hedgehog. When she arrived, Eggman captured her, knowing Sonic would have to save her. Sonic of course saves her, but leaves her behind. But since then, she’s had a major crush on Sonic and wanted to be with him forever.
After that, Amy appeared in a few more games, like the racing game Sonic Drift, Sonic Drift 2, and Sonic the Fighters. In Sonic the Fighters, Amy first got her Piko Piko Hammer which was seen with her in almost every game after. She then appeared in Sonic R, a foot racing game, where she didn’t use her feet, but a red car. She was the worst racer in the game.
Amy next big game was Sonic Adventure for the Sega Dreamcast. In this game, she got a total make over. First, she aged from 8 to 12. She got a new pair of boots, a new red dress, and a new less spikey hairdo. In this game, Amy was living in
She next appeared in Sonic Shuffle, a party game that didn’t do so well against the Mario Party series, but that wasn’t her next big role, that honor belongs to Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast. Though not a playable character this time around, Amy plays a role in the story. She is once again chasing after Sonic but often finds herself being rescued by Tails. She also helps Shadow remember why he should help save the world from the Space Colony ARK.
After that, she appeared in Sonic Advance 1, 2, and 3. Those games had not much story, so, she really didn’t have much of a role in them. She also appeared in the fighting game, Sonic Battle and remakes of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 for the Nintendo Gamecube. Then came Sonic Heroes, the first Sonic game to go multiplatform.
In Sonic Heroes, Amy is once again trying to find Sonic, with the help of Cream the Rabbit and Big the Cat, she sets out to find him. This game also didn’t have much of a story, but this game brought some new moves to her move list, and an obvious confirmation of her friendship with Cream and Big.
Amy's next apparance was in Shadow the Hedgehog. She was on the good side. Her mission with Shadow was to find Cream and Cheese inside Eggman's haunted castle. Shadow and Amy teamed up to find the two and then to battle Eggman in his machine, The Eggbreaker. After Shadow, Amy made a samll appearance in Sonic Rush.
Though not the strongest, or the smartest character, Amy is always there if you need her. Except if she’s chasing after Sonic, that is.

The original Sonic CD Amy. She had a green and orange dress, Sonic like spikes, and purple shoes with red ribbons on them. |
This is the Amy from Sonic Adventure. You can see she has her Piko Piko hammer, as well as green eyes, a new dress, gold bracelets and new boots. |
This is Amy from the anime, Sonic X. As you can see, nothing has changed from Sonic Adventure. The anime artist did a great job. |
