The Biolizard, codenamed Project Shadow, was created by Professor Gerald
Robotnik 50 years ago. It was meant to be the prototype of the Ultimate
lifeform, but it was sealed in suspended animation when GUN came to shut
down the ARK. It didn't give up without a fight, though, and killed almost
all of the GUN officers.

The Biolizard was later awakened when Sonic the Hedgehog and his gang found
the cannon's core. Shadow fought with the Biolizard and destroyed its energy
tank, but as a last attempt to survive it fused with ARK to created the
FinalHazard.

Sonic and Shadow used the seven chaos emeralds to turn into their Super
forms. The FinalHazard was damaged and weak, though, and had many red
swelling areas. Sonic and Shadow used these to their advantage, and rammed
into them dealing immense damage to the FinalHazard and eventually
destroying it.
